Capt-Air is an authorized Nordfab dealer supplying Quick-Fit® clamp-together ducting across Quebec and Canada. Unlike a parts counter, we design the system the ducting goes into.
Ductwork is where most dust collection systems succeed or fail. Transport velocity has to stay high enough to keep material moving and low enough to limit abrasion. Duct diameters, branch angles and elbow radii set the pressure drop your fan has to overcome. Hood placement decides whether the dust is captured at all. And the layout has to leave headroom for the machines you add three years from now. Get it wrong and it shows up as material settling in the ducts, a hood that stops pulling, or a fan drawing power it shouldn’t.
We size all of it — airflow, static pressure, filtration, and the isolation and grounding requirements that come with combustible dust — then supply the Nordfab components to match and install them.

Before anything is ordered, we do a 3D modelling your system so you can see the runs, the drops and the clearances in your own building — and catch conflicts with sprinklers, cranes or existing services while they still cost nothing to move.
Why Use Nordfab Quick-Fit® Ducting
Nordfab introduced clamp-together ductwork in the 1990s, and it has since displaced welded and flanged duct in most plants that expect their layout to change. Here is what makes the difference on a shop floor.
No rivets, screws or welding
Installed faster — and changed faster
Reusable, so the system follows the plant
Clamps, pipe and fittings all come off intact and go back on somewhere else. Over the life of a plant that makes it the cheapest ducting you can buy, because you pay for the layout once and keep reusing it.
Welded seams and a smooth bore
Seams are welded rather than folded or riveted, so there’s no lap for material to catch on, no leakage path along the seam, and nothing for pests to shelter in — which matters if you’re in food or pharma and get audited on it.
It adapts to the duct you already have
You don’t have to replace a whole system to start. Adapters connect Quick-Fit to existing flanged, welded or spiral duct, so you can put clamp-together on the section that changes most and leave the rest alone.
Comes apart for cleaning, goes back without tools
Combustible dust housekeeping means opening ducts. With Quick-Fit a section is released by hand, cleaned, and re-clamped — no cutting, no re-welding, no access-door retrofit.
Galvanized, stainless or mild steel
Galvanized for general dust collection, stainless for food, pharmaceutical and washdown environments, mild steel and other materials on request. For oil mist and coolant, Quick-Fit Sealed (QFS) adds an epoxy seal at the spot-welded and peened joints.
Applications for Nordfab Quick-Fit® Ducting
Nordfab calls it “the world’s fastest ducting,” and that speed is why it turns up almost anywhere a dust, mist or fume collector does. If there’s a hood, a baghouse, a cartridge collector or a cyclone involved, Quick-Fit will connect it. These are the applications we see most often in Quebec plants:
Wood production — sanders, CNC routers, saws and planers. Wood dust is combustible, so cleanout access matters as much as capture.
Metal fabrication and welding — weld fume extraction, plasma and laser cutting tables, grinding and deburring stations.
Aerospace — composite and metal machining dust, capture-at-source systems, and machining mist, where QFS sealed ducting handles the coolant-laden air.
Food and beverage — stainless runs for washdown and audit environments, flour and sugar handling, bagging lines.
Pharmaceutical — nuisance dust in production and packaging, where duct has to come apart for cleaning and verification.
Concrete, cement and mineral processing — abrasive dust at high transport velocities, where duct wear drives the design.
Agriculture and grain — combustible dust mitigation across grain handling and processing.
Packaging — keeping lines clean to prevent cross-contamination between products.
Pneumatic conveying — moving material, not just extracting it.
Ducting and combustible dust
A good share of this is combustible dust work, and ducting is where systems fail an inspection. Duct is a propagation path. It has to run at a transport velocity high enough that material doesn’t settle, be bonded and grounded, be cleaned on a schedule, and be isolated so an event in the collector doesn’t travel back down the line. Capt-Air designs the duct and supplies the isolation, venting and detection that goes with it.

Nordfab Quick-Fit® Ducting (QF)
The standard clamp-together system and the right choice for most dry dust collection. Rolled-edge components, barrel clamps, welded seams — in plants of every size, from cement production to one-person woodworking shops.
Choose it when: you’re handling dry dust and want to be able to move the system later.
Galvanized or stainless
Nordfab Quick-Fit® Sealed Ducting (QFS)
The same clamp-together system, sealed for wet air. On top of the welded seams, every spot-welded and peened joint — bends, branches, reducers — is sealed with a two-part epoxy, so oil mist and cutting fluid don’t weep at the joints.
Choose it when: you’re extracting oil mist, coolant or cutting fluid, or anything that condenses inside the duct.
Galvanized or stainless
Nordfab Flanged Ducting
Traditional bolted construction with rotational industry-standard angle flanges. Slower to install and slower to change, but the right answer for permanent runs and for sites whose specifications call for flanged duct.
Choose it when: the run isn’t moving, or your spec requires flanges.
Galvanized, stainless or carbon steel
